Three physical forces. Five certified steps. Zero residues. Discover why dry ice blasting is the most ingenious cleaning technique in industry.
Dry ice blasting combines three simultaneous physical forces that together deliver a cleaning effect that no other method can match.
CO2 pellets have a temperature of -78.5 °C. On contact with the contaminated surface, an extreme temperature shock occurs. Dirt and coatings shrink faster than the substrate, causing the adhesion forces to break and the contamination to release — without damaging the base material.
On impact, the dry ice sublimates directly from solid to gas — without a liquid phase. This causes a volume expansion by a factor of 700. The resulting shock wave acts like a micro-explosion under the dirt layer, releasing and removing it from the inside out.
Dry ice pellets are accelerated by compressed air to high speeds of 150 to 300 m/s. The kinetic energy on impact is proportional to the mass and the square of the speed. This removes hardened coatings, oils and baked-on residues from any surface.
Every project starts with a thorough analysis. This way we always deliver the optimal result — without surprises, with complete documentation.
A CRYOSTRAL technician visits your site and inventories the surfaces to be cleaned, the nature of the contamination and the operational limitations (safety zone, downtime windows, ATEX zones). Based on this, we prepare a tailor-made quote.
Before every intervention, we prepare a detailed safety plan: CO2 concentration measurement, ventilation schedule, personal protective equipment (PPE) and coordination with your safety coordinator. All work falls under our VCA certification.
Our team prepares the work zone: shielding adjacent installations, placing the CO2 supply, connecting the compressed air compressor and calibrating the Cold Jet applicator for pressure, pellet size and feed rate tailored to your specific application.
The actual cleaning is carried out by certified operators. During the work, a second technician continuously checks the cleaning quality and documents progress with before/after photography. Deviations are corrected immediately.
After completion, you receive a complete cleaning report within 24 hours: before/after photo documentation, the parameters used, the finished surfaces, the CO2 consumption registration and an official cleaning certificate that is auditproof for HACCP, ISO and internal quality systems.
CO2 cleaning is inherently safe when applied correctly. We follow the strictest protocols in the sector and are externally audited every year.
An objective comparison shows why more and more industrial companies are switching to dry ice cleaning as the standard cleaning method.
